In early 2018, Dubai Airports opened an 80,000 sqft state-of-the-art airport control centre, taking position in the heart of the operations of the world’s busiest international airport.

Focused on managing the entire airport operation to help improve each touchpoint in the passenger journey at DXB, the facility was the reason queuing times at DXB were reduced by 28% in 2018, despite record number of visitors.

The bespoke 24/7 command centre is designed as a central point for the aviation community, which includes teams from Dubai Airports, dnata, Dubai Police, Immigration, Customs and the Road and Transport Authority (RTA).

These teams, comprising of over 100 people, work closely together to create a clear view of future plans and monitor real-time data through the utilisation of a new Airport Operating System (AOS) and by integrating planning and monitoring tools.
